Lip Lift Surgery Howell & Monroe Township, NJ

As we age, our lips naturally tend to shrink in size. Even as early as our late 20s, our bodies start to slow down in their production of collagen and hyaluronic acid which is what gives our lips their volume and definition.

Avoiding habits that can damage lips, such as smoking, excessive drinking, and sunbathing, can help to postpone the natural aging of lips, but change is inevitable. One of the most common and unwelcomed transformations is a vertical lengthening in our lips that causes less of our teeth to show when we smile.

Thankfully, at N.J. Oral & Facial Surgery, there are non-invasive surgical treatments that are both safe and effective in enhancing lips, restoring their beauty and youth. We offer subtle yet rejuvenating and aesthetic lip lifts that define and plump up your lips while reducing perioral lines and wrinkles.

What is a lip lift?

We offer several types of lip lifts and lip lifting procedure at N.J. Oral & Facial Surgery. Dr. Levintov specializes in facial, head, and neck treatments for cosmetic and reconstructive purposes. A lift lip is a cosmetic procedure that reduces the distance between your upper lip and the bottom of your nose while elevating the top portion of your lip, resulting in a fuller, more youthful looking upper lip.

How is a lip lift performed?

We can pair your lip lift with other cosmetic procedures for a comprehensive facial rejuvenation. And if you choose to go that route, we can perform all treatments while you are under IV sedation. If you choose to have only a lip lift performed, we will simply numb the area with a local anesthetic. Once you’re numb and comfortable, Dr. Levintov makes a small incision in the natural creases around your nose and lip and trims a curved strip of skin to lift the lip area. Finally, he closes the wound with dissolvable stitches.

How long does a lip lift take?

A simple lift lip alone is an outpatient surgery and takes about 30 minutes.

How much time will I need to take off work?

Lip lifts are quick procedures, but the recovery requires a bit of time since the incision is on your face. Due to stitches and minimal bruising, our patients prefer to take a week off of work for aesthetic reasons and to ensure adequate healing.

Lip Lift Aftercare

As with most procedures, rest is the key to a smooth recovery. Don’t rush the healing, and you’ll experience the best results. The first couple weeks, refrain from doing anything that might put pressure on the lip and nasal area. Wait about a week to return to strenuous exercise, but engage in light activity, such as walking, as soon as you’re ready. This can help reduce any discomfort and swelling.

Am I a good candidate for a lip lift?

Most patients are excellent candidates for lip lifts. If you’d like to plump up your lips, schedule an appointment with our expert facial cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Levintov, and he will complete a comprehensive evaluation of your overall health, facial anatomy, and cosmetic goals.

What procedures can be paired with a lip lift?

Lip lifts can be combined with almost any facial surgery and cosmetic treatment, including neck liposuction, facial implants, and microneedling. During your consultation, a comprehensive treatment plan will be established.
